CHILDLINE India Foundation hosted a five-day Peer Exchange for the Child Helpline Afghanistan from January 31 to February 4, 2011. CHILDLINE team members not only oriented the participants on the mission, principles of CHILDLINE India but also guided them through the day-to-day running of the CHILDLINE. The team also shared strategies and experiences with the Afghanistan Child Helpline team.

Afghanistan-India: Child helpline Peer Exchange Programme

Roughly half of the country's population is under the age of 18 and the Child Helpline Afghanistan team can now make better use of its recently received toll free number 199 from Afghanistan Telecom elaborates a delegate from Child Helpline from Afghanistan.

The exchange programme aimed at sharing knowledge and effective practices implemented by CHILDLINE India. The programme also gave insights to the participants on concepts of child rights, journey of CHILDLINE, CHILDLINE models, Call response, Credo of CHILDLINE, and Basic steps of intervention, Awareness strategies, Documentation, and CHILDLINE Child Protection Policy.
