Ranchi: CHILDLINE Advisory Board (CAB) meeting was presided over by Mr.K.K. Soan, Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi. In his address, Mr.Soan said as most cases of children missing were reported from Railway stations and bus stands, police and CHILDLINE team should be "alert" there.

Deputy Commissioner asked Police, District officials and NGO representatives to work in tandem and urged for closer co-ordination between Police stations, District Welfare Officer and Railway officials to find the state's missing children. CAB members felt that 1098 should be used to inform authorities about missing children.

Other initiatives such as setting up of a phone booth at railway platforms after consulting the Divisional Railway Manager and closer co-ordination with the Office of the Senior Superintendent of Police Office and Shelter Homes. Lacking identity proof during intervention: CHILDLINE team expressed the need for identify cards to the volunteers during the intervention. It was collectively decided that the Social Welfare Officer will work in tandem with the local police station to trace the child to avoid any confusion or delay
